The current records are:

Spiderman $114 million (3,615 theatres)
Shrek 2 $108 million (4,163 theatres)
Harry Potter PoA (3,855 theatres)

I don't know how many theatres Spidey 2 will open in, but even if it does about the same ($31,700 per theatre), and opens in 4000 theatres, it will still make at least 127 MILLION DOLLARS this weekend. [img]eek.gif[/img]
